Our chapter is committed to service. We pledge to support the Department of English, the University of North Texas, the city of Denton, and our global community through these and other activities:

• Assist members in applying for scholarships, pursuing publication, and presenting papers at national conferences
• Host talks by English department faculty on current research and new courses
• Advise students interested in pursuing graduate study
• Prepare English majors for post-college success through networking opportunities and workshops on cover letters, CV design, and mock interviews
• Promote campus culture of literacy and intellectual freedom through the Banned Books Read-Out
• Serve our community by helping local high schools establish National English Honors Society chapters
• Support worldwide literacy through the Better World Books program
