Dr. Jacqueline Vanhoutte specializes in Renaissance drama, including Shakespeare, as well as in literature associated with the Tudor courts. She has strong secondary interests in medieval and modern drama. Dr. Vanhoutte enjoys teaching undergraduate and graduate classes on all aspects of the English Renaissance. Her most recent book, Age in Love: Shakespeare and the Elizabethan Court, appeared with the University of Nebraska Press (2019). Her first book, Strange Communion: Motherland and Masculinity in Tudor Plays, Pamphlets, and Politics, appeared with the University of Delaware Press in 2003. Her other publications include a book co-authored with Laurel Amtower, entitled A Companion to Chaucer and his Contemporaries (Broadview, 2009), and numerous essays in collections or journals like ELR: English Literary Renaissance, Philological Quarterly, Comparative Drama, and SEL.
