Ishanika Sharma is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the University of North Texas. Her areas of research and teaching interests include South Asian literature, literary theory, postcolonial studies, and the environmental humanities. Her current research project analyzes non-linear temporality in narratives of geopolitical and environmental catastrophes in modern South Asia. Tentatively titled Postcolonial Eventality: Narratives of Catastrophe in South Asia, the project investigates what remains unaccountable and incommensurable in the telling of disaster. Her research has appeared or is forthcoming in venues such as ARIEL: A Review of International English Literature, Journal of Global Postcolonial Studies, MUSE India, and Research in African Literatures. She is also currently the Book Review Editor for Studies in the Novel.
