Lauren Rogener

Dr. Lauren J. Rogener graduated from the University of North Texas in 2022 with her PhD in English literature. She received her MA from Concordia University (2010) and her BA from McGill University (2008), both in Montreal, Canada. Her research focuses on early modern British literature, particularly masques and other forms of theatre associated with the Elizabethan and early Jacobean courts. Her publications include the essay "Womb Rhetoric: The Martial Maternity of Volumnia, Tamora, and Elizabeth I" in The Palgrave Handbook of Shakespeare's Queens (2018). Her creative work includes the original chamber opera No Masque for Good Measure, performed at the Cluster New Music and Integrated Arts Festival in Winnipeg, Canada (2012), as well as various poems and texts that have been set to music and performed throughout the United States and Canada.
